Family Day.

A vase flies across the room and smashes on the wall.
A Trophy soars up and scratches the ceiling.

Words Fly,
Hands Poised.

"Give me your bank account numbers!"
"Don't touch me, you monster!"

In a corner,
in a room.

Sits two children.
Huddled together.

Tears are flowing down their cheeks.
They are hapless, terrified.

A knife goes up.
A bamboo pole is held.

The children stares in silent horror.
Blood splurts, a cry goes up.

The children cries out in silence.
Tears flow, huddling together.

A TV screen is cracked and broken.
A rice cooker goes out of the window.

On a table, sits a piece of homework.
On another, stands a pencil holder.

Both was crashed down in fury.

Fury and Hate rushes through the parent's mind.
Horror and Pain takes control of the children.

This is the meaning of a family.
This is but afterall, just a family activity.

May Fool!

It's here, here,
here again.

Time to joke,
time to scheme.

Devious plans start appearing,
Evil people start planning.

Pouring water into pails,
Putting insects into mails.

To fool, to joke, to succeed.
was all in people's mind indeed.

Finally it is here.

"Joe, your pants have a big hole!"
"Jane, there's no school tomorrow!"

People start laughing,
while the rest start crying.

Now I wonder,
why did my friend insist it's called May's Fool.
When it's on April the first?

Now That's Pollution

Now That’s Pollution
By: Yeo WenBin

Welcome, welcome,
Welcome to this country of ours.

Look here, everyone, at all these fallen trees,
We can see how the government is trying to clear land for development.

Over here, is a beautiful green lake, caused by eutrophication,
Don’t know what it means? Oh, It just means something good. That’s for sure.

Here, here, don’t dilly-dally everyone.

Look at these wonderful smoke-producing funnels,
It represents the stable economy of our country.

Here, you can see a tree that is made out of rubbish,
It shows our artistic talent, how beautiful this tree is.

Look at this cracked earth you are standing on now,
Simply magnificent landscape only our country can offer!

Oh, What is that over there?!
Disgusting people trying to net out rubbish.
Must be foreigners who litter everywhere
How not eco-friendly they are!

Now That’s Pollution.

Run, and you shall fall.
Cut, and you shall bleed.
Waste, and you shall need.
Pollute, and you shall suffer”

War Of The Words (4-5)

4th level in Catholic High.
5th room from the stairs.

That's where you'll find.
A room full of fun.

Dawn breaks, and everyone's sleeping.
After all, they'll need to start talking.

Bell Rings at 7am.
That's the time students start causing mayhem.

"And this is how you should do your oral topics, then."
"Do you all understand?"

"Hey, Yim! You are DUMB!"
"GABRIEL TANG! Who are you calling dumb! you fat boy!"

And it starts, the war of the words.
The teacher tries to stop it, failing as usual.

"Bitch!"
"Slut!"
"Whore!"
"Fat!"
"Shit!"

No wonder we can all improve our vocabulary.

"Terence Chew! Xuhao! Stop sleeping!"
"Class! Stop talking!"

Actually it's a wonder anyone's awake.

"Elson! Stop fighting with WenBin!"
"Marcus! What's so funny? Stop laughing!"

hey! We all love some jokes!
Especially when it happens at the back of the class.

"Ariantio! Class has already started! Stop playing chess!"
"Alvan! Stop eating under the table!"

Lessons are a boredom.
Of course we need some entertainment.

English just ended.
And as always it ended with,

"VICTOR YIM is dumb!"
"Hey yim, he just called you dumb!"
"Stupid gabriel tang, what did you say?"
"Dumb yim!"
"Fat tang!"

After all, it's the war of the words.

Welcome to 4-5.
